SANDAG Bike to Work Day is now Bike Anywhere Day.Take the pledge to join thousands on May 18 from 6 to 9 a.m. and bike to work, school, or anywhere. Plan to stop by one of many pit stops across the region for refreshments, snacks, and a free commemorative 2023 Bike Anywhere Day t-shirt.  

“I encourage everyone to participate in Bike Anywhere Day, it’s a perfect opportunity to try out biking and attend fun community workshops and events,” said SANDAG and San Diego Supervisor Chairwoman Nora Vargas. “It shows our commitment as a county in promoting active ways of transportation and moves us closer to cleaner air and healthier and stronger communities in San Diego County.” 

With nearly 1,800 miles of bikeways throughout the region, SANDAG Bike Anywhere Day gives everyone of all ages and abilities the opportunity to explore their community and GO by BIKE. The annual regional event aims to promote biking as a viable, fun, and healthy transportation choice for everyday trips and to combat traffic congestion and air pollution. 

For more than 30 years, SANDAG has hosted this event, offering free bike education to schools and employers, and organizing bike rides across the region.

Pit stops are crucial to the success of this annual event. Organizations interested in supporting SANDAG Bike Anywhere Day can apply to host a pit stop now through March 31.
