Bikeways & Walkways
One aspect of the Regional Plan is to create a balanced regional transportation system that provides more transportation choices and supports smart growth and sustainability. That’s why we’re prioritizing the development of bike and pedestrian-friendly streets and neighborhoods by expanding infrastructure for non-motorized transportation, such as biking and walking. By making riding a bike a safer and more convenient form of transportation for everyday travel, we are positively impacting our region by helping meet goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve mobility. Not only are biking and walking great for the environment, but they can help residents and visitors save money, live healthier lifestyles, and have more travel options.
