We’re working on making transit more affordable for those who need it most. In November and December 2023, we’ll be sharing information about potential transit aid programs and gathering input on which type of program the community wants to see next in our region.
It's no surprise that offering affordable transit helps many people get around more easily, including low-income communities, people who can’t drive, and those without access to a car. The Youth Opportunity Pass program shows how free transit has made it easier for kids to get to school, after-school activities, and more. Now, we want to make it easier for even more people to get to their destinations—whether it’s work, the grocery store, doctors' appointments, or anything else.
Motivating people to take transit instead of driving will also reduce greenhouse gas emissions, help our region fight climate change, and give us cleaner air to breathe.
