SANDAG provides free assistance to San Diego regional employers in designing and implementing commuter benefits programs, which offer incentives for employees who carpool, bike, walk, or ride transit to work, have a compressed work week, telework, and more. As employers work with SANDAG, they receive customized consulting services, promotional incentives, event support, and marketing materials for their organization.
By encouraging sustainable transportation choices and offering assistance with commuting through the Military Program, Transit Pass Discounts, Bike Education Classes, and Telework Assistance, employers can improve employee wellness and retention. At the same time, employers can save money through tax benefits and receive recognition through the Diamond Awards. SANDAG’s Employer Commuter Services complements our broader Sustainable Transportation Services program to help you find alternatives to driving alone that fit your lifestyle. SANDAG’s Sustainable Transportation Services, formerly known as iCommute, is the Transportation Demand Management (TDM) program for the San Diego region that encourages sustainable transportation choices to help reduce traffic congestion and greenhouse gas emissions.
