Full Nighttime Closures along SR 125 to Take Place on January 23

On Monday, January 23, Caltrans and SANDAG crews will continue lane striping work in Otay Mesa as part of the State Route 11 (SR 11)/Otay Mesa East Port of Entry project. This work will fully close the southbound State Route 125 (SR 125) to eastbound State Route 905 (SR 905) connector and the northbound SR 125 toll plaza. A full list of these closures as well as anticipated closure times are listed below. Please note, construction schedules are subject to change.

Nighttime Closure, 9 p.m. - 5 a.m.
Southbound SR 125 to eastbound SR 905 connector

Nighttime Closure, 11 p.m. - 12 a.m.
Northbound SR 125 Toll Plaza Lanes

Motorists traveling along southbound SR 125 will be detoured via the southbound SR 125 to eastbound SR 11 connector ramp. Travelers wishing to use the northbound SR 125 toll road during this closure will be detoured to the FasTrak lanes. Drivers are encouraged to slow down and move over for highway workers and law enforcement, give themselves more time, and anticipate traffic delays or consider taking an alternate route to reach their destination while the closures are in place.

The work is part of construction on the final segment of the future toll road SR 11 and the southbound connector ramps, linking southbound SR 125 to westbound SR 905

About SR 11/Otay Mesa East Port of Entry Project

The SR 11/Otay Mesa East Port of Entry Project is a joint venture between Caltrans and SANDAG, in collaboration with state and federal partners in the U.S. and Mexico, to create a 21st century port of entry that will enhance regional mobility, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, fuel economic growth, and bolster binational trade. Roadway and connector ramp construction currently underway will ultimately provide a direct connection to an advanced U.S. Land Port of Entry and a California Highway Patrol Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Facility, enabling fast, predictable, and secure border crossings.
