Energy and Climate Change
The SANDAG climate program supports 2021 Regional Plan implementation through climate mitigation and adaptation efforts. Program areas include climate action and climate resiliency planning, clean transportation planning, zero emission vehicle and infrastructure incentives, and regional coordination to ensure a resilient San Diego region.
Current Energy and Climate Change Projects
Ongoing efforts by SANDAG and others throughout the San Diego region to adapt to the effects of climate change.
Through implementation of programs and policies, SANDAG is helping mitigate climate change impacts within the region, while supporting the State’s achievement of its aggressive climate goals.
SANDAG is working to help the San Diego region transition to zero-emission vehicles of all sizes, including passenger or light-duty electric vehicles, medium-duty electric vehicles (e.g., school buses and box trucks), and heavy-duty vehicles (e.g., long-haul freight and semi-trucks).
