The SANDAG Board of Directors meeting scheduled for Friday, October 10 — focusing solely on the proposed State Route 11 Otay Mesa East Port of Entry (POE) project — has been cancelled due to a conflict with another important event focusing on important economic issues in South County. The Board meeting will be rescheduled at a later date.

The meeting was in direct conflict with the South County Economic Development Council’s 24th Annual Economic Summit. During polling of SANDAG Board members this week to determine their availability to attend Friday’s Board meeting it became apparent that several elected officials —particularly those from South County —would need to divide their time between the two meetings, and therefore would not be able to give their full attention to the SR 11 Otay Mesa East POE project.

The SANDAG Board is composed of elected officials from all 18 cities in the county and members of the County Board of Supervisors. The Board typically meets twice a month to address issues of regional significance.
