Project Overview
The State Route 76 (SR 76) West Segment project was completed in partnership with Caltrans over two phases. The project widened the existing highway from two lanes to four between Interstate 5 (I-5) and Melrose Drive.
Schedule
The first phase from I-5 to Foussat Road started construction in 1994 and opened in 1995. The second phase from Foussat Road east to Melrose Drive and Jeffries Ranch Road started construction in 1996 and opened in 1999.
Budget
The total cost was $81 million funded by a mix of state and federal dollars, as well as TransNet.
