SANDAG Celebrates 35 Years of Local TransNet Tax

This year, SANDAG celebrates the 35th anniversary of TransNet—the local half-cent sales tax. For more than three decades, the SANDAG TransNet program has been the driving force for improving transportation infrastructure in the San Diego region.   
  
With more than 700 projects completed, the impact of TransNet can be seen all across the San Diego region.  SANDAG has used TransNet funds to deliver transit, highway, bikeway and walkway projects, local street and road improvements, specialized transportation services, and environmental protection efforts.  
 
To mark this milestone, SANDAG launched an interactive map where the public can learn about TransNet projects in their communities.
