The Coast, Canyons, and Trails Comprehensive Multimodal Corridor Plan is one of 11 data-driven Comprehensive Multimodal Corridor Plans (CMCPs) that aims to study ways to improve transportation safety, increase travel choices, and improve mobility. CMCPs create a comprehensive set of safe, sustainable, and equitable transportation solutions tailored to the needs of corridor residents and travelers.

CMCPs align with the 2021 Regional Plan adopted by the SANDAG Board of Directors in December 2021. The corridor plans are necessary to be eligible for certain state and federal funding and grant opportunities, including Senate Bill 1 funds.

The Coast, Canyons, and Trails CMCP is funded by TransNet, the half-cent sales tax for local transportation projects, and is anticipated to be completed by fall 2022.
