Interactive Maps

Explore the region with our interactive mapping applications. Easy to understand point-and-click interfaces make customized map displays fast and easy.

Geographic Boundary Viewer

Simultaneously view political boundaries, geographic areas (including census tracts, community planning areas, and ZIP codes), roads, and physical features such as rivers and lagoons with this mapping tool. Basic information about each area, including the name and acreage, also may be displayed.

Growth Visualization With Satellite Imagery

View the dramatic housing and employment growth in the greater San Diego region, including Orange and Western Riverside Counties and Baja California, between 1982 and 2000. This application, created by SANDAG, the Regional Workbench Consortium, and the SDSU Education Center on Computational Science and Engineering, uses satellite imagery to illustrate development patterns across the region.

Please note that this application requires users to have or install Shockwave Media. This is a large application. Some users may experience a delay before the application loads and is viewable.

Regional Economic Development Information (REDI)

REDI is an interactive mapping service that helps users visualize the relationships among existing and planned land use, road networks, traffic volumes, parcel boundaries, and much more. Topography or aerial photo imagery may be displayed as a base layer. Developed in cooperation with San Diego Geographic Information Source, (SanGIS), REDI includes a reporting component to retrieve demographic information as well as individual parcel characteristics.

Traffic Forecast Information Center (TFIC)

Get quick access to forecasted average weekday traffic volumes for freeways, freeway ramps, and major roads with TFIC. Select individual roadway segments to obtain additional information including street name, type of roadway, number of lanes, and posted speed. Recent enhancements include trip generation and land use forecasts for small geographic areas.
