Notice of Request for Applications - Social Services Transportation Advisory Council

The Social Services Transportation Advisory Council (SSTAC) is a SANDAG advisory group consisting of 17 members representing social service agencies, individuals, transportation providers, and the Consolidated Transportation Services Agency.  The mission of SSTAC is to review, recommend, and promote the development and use of accessible transportation services within the San Diego region.

The California Public Utilities Code requires SANDAG to strive to attain geographic and minority representation among the SSTAC membership from a broad representation of providers and the public. SANDAG seeks to fill openings on the SSTAC with a diverse group of persons who are representative of the community. SANDAG highly encourages applications from persons of all races and economic backgrounds for the following six vacancies:

• Two (2) representatives for special interest alternates
• Two (2) representatives for at-large alternates
• One (1) representative of social service providers for persons with disabilities
• One (1) representative of social service providers for low-income residents

Interested applicants must submit an application that includes information on each of the following items: the position they are seeking to fill, availability for bi-monthly meetings, qualifications and background, and geographic representation.

Due to their public service status, SSTAC members must meet strict conflict of interest standards. Applications are due May 3, 2013, to SANDAG, 401 B Street, San Diego, CA 92101, Attention: SSTAC Membership.

The meeting locations are accessible by public transit.  In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, SSTAC will accommodate persons who require assistance in order to participate at these meetings.
