Meeting audio files now available on Web site
Members of the public unable to attend select SANDAG meetings can now access recordings of these meetings via audio files posted to the SANDAG Web site.
New photo library depicts existing smart growth areas
To showcase examples of existing smart growth in the region and to demonstrate how it can become a larger part of the landscape, SANDAG has assembled a smart growth photo library of nearly 4,000 regional photographs depicting transit-oriented and mixed-use development, higher-density housing, and walkable and bikable spaces.
Fare Facts: A guide to regional transit fares
Updated to include new service and fare information for 2009, Fare Facts is provided free as a helpful guide to fare information for the region’s transit services. Fare Facts also lists the different passes available to MTS and NCTD passengers, explains where tickets and passes can be purchased, and what fare promotions are available, among other things!
Bike to Work Day 2009 a success
This year the San Diego region had approximately 5,000 cyclists use pedal power to get to work on May 15. To help cyclists along the way there were a record 56 pit stops – places where riders got free water, snacks, and encouragement!
Compass Cards continue to roll out
The official rollout of Compass Cards to all public transit is underway! During the next few months paper monthly pass holders will transfer to the latest in smart card technology for transit. By fall 2009, all monthly paper transit passes will be on Compass Cards.
Hybrid buses go into service on new SuperLoop
SuperLoop, a new 8-mile circulator transit route providing frequent, higher speed transit service in the North University City area of San Diego, began interim service to nine stations on June 15.
I-15 Express Lanes project wins two major awards
The I-15 Express Lanes project won two major awards in June, taking home top honors in the 2009 Tranny Awards as well as an achievement award from the National Association of Regional Councils.
May Board of Directors meeting actions available online
The next SANDAG Board of Directors business meeting is scheduled for Friday, July 24, 2009 at 9 a.m. Members of the public not in attendance may listen live to this meeting by accessing the "Listen Live" link from the SANDAG Web site home page approximately 15 minutes prior to the start of the meeting.
