SANDAG Continues Series of Webinars on the 5 Big Moves

Public and Private Industry Experts Share Insights on Strategies to Develop a Bold New Transportation Vision

August, 6, 2019-- SANDAG is hosting a series of 45-minute webinars to discuss the 5 Big Moves. These strategies set the framework for a bold new transportation vision for San Diego Forward: The 2021 Regional Plan, which will enhance connectivity, increase safety and sustainability, and improve quality of life in the San Diego region.

The 2021 Regional Plan will synchronize the 5 Big Moves – Complete Corridors, Transit Leap, Mobility Hubs, Flexible Fleets, and Next OS – to deliver an integrated, world class transportation system.

The next webinar will focus on Flexible Fleets and will take place on Wednesday, August 7 at 12 p.m. PDT.

The Flexible Fleets webinar will explore how shared, on-demand services like rideshare, ridehailing, microtransit, and more can provide personalized and convenient travel options 24/7, and reduce the need for car ownership.

Industry expert guest speakers will discuss the features and anticipated benefits of Flexible Fleets, where these services typically operate, and how Flexible Fleets work with the rest of the 5 Big Moves.

Flexible Fleets webinar guest speakers include:
• Andy Kaplinsy, Chief Financial Officer, NEXT Future Transportation
• Justin Erlich, Vice President of Strategy, Policy, & Legal, Voyage

Andy recently joined NEXT Future Transportation and has more than 20 years of experience in corporate leadership, new business development, and business transformation. Most recently, he was Chief Commercial Officer at Greyhound Lines where he led a comprehensive digital transformation to increase customer engagement and make the entire customer journey as hassle free as possible.

Justin leads Voyage’s work on go-to-market strategy, policy and communication, and regulatory issues for development of autonomous vehicles and deployment of an on-demand taxi service. Prior to this role, he was Uber’s Global Head of Policy for advanced mobility initiatives, including Autonomous Vehicles, Urban Aviation, and Freight. He previously served on the leadership team of former California Attorney General (now U.S. Senator) Kamala Harris and as a strategy consultant for McKinsey & Company.
