Technology Project Management Intern

Salary Range:
$18- $21 per hour

Overview of Information Technology Service and Infrastructure
The Technology Program Management Office (TPMO) transforms business needs into information technology (IT) solutions through IT governance and effective project management. The Office leads the agency’s IT Governance program, supports the activities of the IT Steering Committee, maintains the Enterprise IT inventories of work, and provides leadership for IT and ITS project managers. The TPMO establishes standards and provides training on the use of the tools and services, and helps the agency ensure efficiency and collaboration through file sharing, document storage, discovery, and retention. The TPMO guides activities to ensure technology implementation meets the needs of the business and consistently delivers quality business outcomes, on time and within budget.

Intern Responsibilities

▪ Provide support to a fast-paced Project Management office; assist with administrative, project management, and other tasks.
▪ Review consultant invoices for accuracy; coordinate with consultants and project managers to resolve billing disputes; accurately process incoming invoices, coordinate with other groups/sections to ensure timely payment.
▪ Assist with updating project budget worksheets, project databases, tracking logs, and documentation; assist with budget and invoice cost analysis.
▪ Provide input and ideas on how to increase successful project outcomes.
▪ Assist with the preparation of project progress reports, other special reports, and general correspondence.
▪ Assist with data entry and project controls implementation to support the scheduling of various projects.


▪ Graduate or final-year undergraduate coursework in public or business administration, information systems, project management, finance, or a related field.
▪ Desire to learn and enhance project management skills
▪ Ability and willingness to support a fast-paced Project Management office with administrative, project management, and other related tasks.
▪ Ability to communicate with various audiences using interpersonal, written, and oral communication.
▪ Experience organizing, attending, and participating in meetings; experience documenting and following up on actions and decisions from meetings.
▪ Experience preparing presentation materials for meetings.
▪ Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access, and online research.
▪ Proven organizational skills, attention to detail, high degree of accuracy, and ability to multitask.

Hours, Pay, and Perks

Beginning January 3, 2022, undergraduate-level interns will be paid $18 per hour; interns with a bachelor’s degree or higher will be paid $21 per hour.

Interns also receive pro-rated holiday pay, paid sick leave, and a regional transit pass. These internships are offered as one-year positions, working approximately 25-29 hours per week. The work is primarily performed during normal business hours; a specific schedule will be determined between the intern and supervisor.
