Bayshore Bikeway

The Bayshore Bikeway is a regional bicycle facility that will eventually extend 24 miles around San Diego Bay, providing a vital and scenic connection to tourist destinations well as major bayfront employers.

Currently, about 15 miles of bicycle paths have been built. The rest of the facility consists of on-street sections designated as either bicycle lanes or bicycle routes.

SANDAG is developing additional improvements to the bikeway along the east side of the Bay based on the Bayshore Bikeway Plan, which was adopted in 2006.

Port of San Diego Chula Vista Bayfront Project Update for Cyclists

On April 27, 2020, construction work began at E Street and Bay Boulevard as part of the Costa Vista RV Resort project. This work will result in periodic traffic impacts, including lane closures, through August 2020. Construction will take part in phases and the contractor will post current signs on the roadway at each construction area. The work will also have some minimal and periodic impacts on the Bayshore Bikeway. While the Bayshore Bikeway will remain open, people biking and walking can expect detours and temporary delays. For safety, please pay attention and adhere to all signage.
