Estimated Unemployment Rates by ZIP Code - As of May 9, 2020

This data was provided by the San Diego Partnership and Applied Geographic Solutions, Inc. on May 18, 2020.

High-contact-intensity occupations: Lends insights into which sectors of the economy will be impacted the most due to social distancing.

Unemployment by place of work: Not all employment centers are impacted in the same way as the composition of businesses vary from area to area. Some areas of the region will be harder hit because of the type and concentration of businesses located in them. These may require longer to recover than others depending on the underlying mix of businesses.

Unemployment by place of residence: Analysis by ZIP Code helps identify which communities are the hardest hit by the COVID-19 crisis. Areas with high concentrations of workers in the affected industries are being disproportionately affected.
