Growth in the San Diego Region as Seen from Space
This visualization application uses historic Landsat satellite images to illustrate growth in the greater San Diego region including Orange and Western Riverside Counties and Baja California between 1982 and 2000. The application allows users to move around the region to see changes related to growth over time.
Please note that this application requires users to have or install Shockwave Media. This is a larger application, and some users may experience a delay before the application loads and is viewable.
This application was made possible by the Regional Workbench Consortium (RWBC) and the San Diego State University (SDSU) Education Center on Computational Science and Engineering (ECCS). The RBWC is a formal member of the RCP Stakeholders Working Group based out of the Urban Studies and Planning Program at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) and funded by the Outreach Core of UCSD's Superfund Basic Research Program. The SDSU Educational Center on Computational Science and Engineering is funded by the National Partnership for Advanced Computational Infrastructure (NPACI) and is a partner in the RWBC.
