The SAN DIEGO ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS (SANDAG) is administering the following project for the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS). SANDAG, 401 B Street, Suite 800, San Diego, CA 92101-4231, is requesting bids to perform the work, in general, as follows:
Scope of Work Tenant improvements for the 9th and 10th floors of the James R. Mills Building, 1255 Imperial Avenue, San Diego, CA 92101-7490, includes demolition of interior walls, doors, drop ceilings, and flooring; removal of wall and floor treatments; the building of new interior walls; relocation of lighting fixtures; installation of floor treatment; painting; electrical work; and procuring all materials and performing all other work necessary to complete the work in accordance with the Project CIP 11153 plans and Special Provisions.
Supplemental work consists, in general, of repairing and adjusting of HV and HVAC duct work including vent and thermostat relocation, seismic restraints, Title 24 compliance; fire sprinkler system upgrade; and installation of domestic water backflow preventor. Supplemental work shall be constructed under the same conditions as other work of the contract. Supplemental work or any portion thereof, may be required at the Engineer’s direction and will be paid for under a negotiated change order in accordance with Section 4-1.03, “Changes,” of the Standard Specifications.
A valid B license is required. The Engineer’s Estimate for this work is $890,000. The prebid meeting was on January 31 at MTS.
Addendum No. 1 This was issued by fax on February 2 (without back-up) and by FedEx on February 5 (with complete back-up).
Second Site Walk The first site walk occured after the prebid meeting. A second site walk took place on Tuesday, February 6, 2007, at 9:00 a.m. at the site.
Addendum No. 2: New bid date: February 21 This was issued by fax on February 8. It changed the bid date to February 21, 2007, by 2:30 at MTS.

Technical Questions The Resident Engineer (RE) is Matt Britten (619) 699-7335, mbr@sandag.org). All technical questions should be addressed in writing to the RE and must be submitted, per Addendum No. 4, no later than Monday, February 19, by 5:00 p.m.

Purchasing Plans and Specs You can buy plans and specs only through SANDAG at a cost of $35. However, make your check or money order payable to MTS (we don't take credit cards nor cash). Mail it to SANDAG, Attn: Louise Torio, 401 B Street, Suite 800, San Diego, CA 92101-4231. Include your FedEx or UPS number so we can ship the project to you. If you come in person, please go to the SANDAG 7th Floor reception desk. Plans and specs are NONREFUNDABLE. Do NOT go to MTS to buy plans and specs: they will not be sold there.
Bid packages may be reviewed at SANDAG and/or the Contracting Opportunities Center (619-285-7020) located at 4007 Camino Del Rio South, Suite 210, San Diego, CA.
Bids Due Per Addendum No. 2, bids must be received by 2:30 p.m., on Wednesday, February 21, 2007, at MTS (not SANDAG), attention: Louise Torio. If you are bringing your bids in person, bring them to the MTS 10th floor. If you are sending your bid via FedEx, send it to the main address (MTS, Attn: Louise Torio, 401 1255 Imperial Avenue, Suite 1000, San Diego, CA 92101-7490). Bids arriving later than 2:30 p.m., or at a location other than MTS, 1255 Imperial Avenue, 10th Floor, San Diego, will not be considered.
