Notice of Membership Opportunities - Social Services Transportation Advisory Council

The Social Services Transportation Advisory Council (SSTAC) is a SANDAG advisory group consisting of 21 members who represent social service agencies, individuals, transportation providers, and the Consolidated Transportation Services Agency. The mission of the SSTAC is to review, recommend, and promote the development and use of accessible transportation services within the San Diego region.

The California Public Utilities Code requires that SANDAG strive to attain geographic and minority representation among the SSTAC membership from a broad representation of providers and the public. SANDAG seeks to fill openings on the SSTAC with a diverse group of persons who are representatives of the community. SANDAG highly encourages applications from persons of all ethnicities and economic backgrounds for the following six vacancies:

• One representative of potential transit users who is 60 years or older
• One representative of potential transit users who is disabled
• Two at-large representatives of the interests of seniors, persons with limited means, or disabled transit users who are well versed in the ADA and Title 24 regulations
• One representative of a local social service provider for persons with disabilities
• One representative of a social service provider for persons of limited means

Interested parties must complete an application which requests the following information: the position sought to be filled, availability for bi-monthly meetings, qualifications and background, and geographic representation. Due to its public service status, SSTAC members must meet strict conflict of interest standards.

Applications are due to SANDAG, 401 B Street, Suite 800, San Diego, CA 92101, by 5 p.m. on June 22, 2016. More information regarding the SSTAC and its responsibilities, as well as the membership application, can be found at sandag.org/sstac or by contacting Audrey Porcella at (619) 699-1961 or audrey.porcella@sandag.org.
