Notice of Public Hearing - Social Services Transportation Advisory Council

The Social Services Transportation Advisory Council (SSTAC) is an advisory group to SANDAG with 13 members representing social service agencies, individuals, transportation providers and the Consolidated Transportation Services Agency. The California Public Utilities Code requires SSTAC to hold at least one Public Hearing each year for the purpose of soliciting input from transit dependent disadvantaged persons, including seniors, persons with disabilities and persons of limited means.

SSTAC will hold the hearing this year at SANDAG in Downtown San Diego with videoconferencing available at NCTD in Oceanside. Hearing participants will hear a brief presentation on the Public Transit and Social Services Transportation Plan (Coordinated Plan) for San Diego County. The Coordinated Plan currently is being updated by SANDAG and includes strategies for better coordinating public transit and human service transportation and helps SANDAG determine how future grants for human service transportation should be awarded. Individuals attending the hearing are encouraged to provide input to the new plan, potential human service transportation improvements, or raise other issues pertinent to transportation needs of seniors, persons with disabilities, and low income individuals.
