South Bay Expressway: Roads and Highways
South Bay Expressway

SANDAG, along with Caltrans and a private California corporation, the California Transportation Ventures, Incorporated, have formed a public/private partnership to develop this state-of-the-art tollway. The South Bay Expressway, formerly the SR 125 South Tollway, extends from Otay Mesa near the U.S./Mexico border to State Route 54 and is opened in 2007. This north-south tollway improves regional traffic flow in the South Bay and expand access for residents and business people to businesses and employment centers on both sides of the U.S./Mexico border.

The publicly funded segments commonly known as the Gap and Connector connects the tollway to the regional highway system in the north. The Gap segment will complete the highway connecting State Route 54 and State Route 125 and opened in 2007.

More information is available on the South Bay Expressway Web site: http://www.southbayexpressway.com/.
