Transportation Planning for Persons with Disabilities: Public Transit
Transportation Planning for Persons with Disabilities

SANDAG coordinates a number of programs to assist transit and paratransit operators in implementing the Americans With Disabilities Act. Much of this work is coordinated through the Subcommittee for Accessible Transportation to work with local, state, and other agencies to implement transportation programs for senior citizens and persons with disabilities. SANDAG also is responsible for the region's Consolidated Transportation Service Agency (CTSA). The CTSA serves as an information resource for specialized transportation providers and provides technical assistance and public outreach to increase awareness of specialized transportation options.

The STRIDE Web site (Specialized Transportation Referral & Information for the Disabled & Elderly) provides a wealth of information designed to assist all senior and disabled individuals throughout San Diego County in need of information about transportation services.
