On the Baja California side of the border, Jacume is 6 miles (10 km) north of Federal Highway 2, both the older ''free'' road and the recently opened ''toll'' road. The study examined the potential use for such a border entry by commercial and passenger vehicles needing easy access to the two major highways. The study recommended continued monitoring of the area for the potential development of a Port of Entry.
