SANDAG, in partnership with the City of Encinitas and North County Transit District, will host a community meeting in February to brainstorm and refine the vision for the E Street to Chester-field Drive segment of the Coastal Rail Trail.

Please come to the workshop and help us plan this new path – which will be an important segment of a bikeway that will eventually be continuous from Oceanside to San Diego.

The Coastal Rail Trail in Encinitas is planned as a multi-use path, separated from motor vehicle traffic. The initial two-mile segment from E Street to Chesterfield Drive would be the first section of the Coastal Rail Trail in Encinitas, and would add a significant piece to the regional bicycle network. The overall project goal is to provide a comfortable off-street facility for people of all ages and abilities to ride a bike, walk, or run.
