Draft Public Participation Plan released for review
We want to hear from you! SANDAG has prepared a draft Public Participation Plan detailing how the agency will communicate with the public – as well as gather public input – about regional initiatives. Comments are due November 30.

Quarterly progress report on transportation projects
Each quarter, SANDAG issues a transportation progress report to its Board of Directors to keep the members apprised of the many projects underway in the region. By leveraging state, federal, and local TransNet dollars, SANDAG funds transportation improvements and services designed to give commuters more choices and reduce growing traffic congestion.

2009 demographics estimates released
SANDAG has released 2009 population and demographic estimates for its Web-based Profile Warehouse and Fast Facts applications.

RideLink is now iCommute
During Rideshare Week 2009, RideLink transitioned to the new name iCommute. The iCommute name better encompasses all the alternative commute options offered and takes on a fresh and contemporary look and feel.

Regional activities educate commuters during Rideshare Week 2009
Rideshare Week is a nationally recognized event promoting alternative commute choices to driving alone such as carpooling, vanpooling, taking public transportation, walking, teleworking, or bicycling to work. This year, Rideshare Week was sponsored by Barona Resort & Casino, VPSI Inc., Women’s Bureau, Green Cruiser, SAIC, Enterprise Rideshare, and Cloud 9 SuperShuttle.

Report details gang involvement among arrestees
For the first time in the region, SANDAG has conducted a comprehensive survey of gang involvement among arrestees, gaining some insight into how they entered the gang lifestyle, their activities, and how they compare with other arrestees.

October Board of Directors meeting actions available online
The next SANDAG Board of Directors business meeting is scheduled for Friday, November 20, 2009, at 9 a.m. Members of the public not in attendance may listen live to this meeting by accessing the "Listen Live" link from the SANDAG Web site home page approximately 15 minutes prior to the start of the meeting.
