Rideshare Week is October 1-5 RideLink

Rideshare Week 2007 is a national celebration to promote alternatives to solo commuting. Every day, thousands of San Diego commuters ride the bus, Trolley or COASTER, carpool or vanpool, bike or walk to work, or telecommute.

SANDAG is celebrating Rideshare Week this year by inviting all San Diegans to tell us how they commute to work.

Please take our survey at www.ridelink.org/survey between September 28 and October 31 and you could win one of 52 valuable prizes!

The survey will give SANDAG important information about what types of services to offer to expand options for San Diego commuters.

Rideshare Week will promote a number of commute alternatives:

Monday, October 1: bus, Trolley or COASTER
Tuesday, October 2: vanpool and carpool
Wednesday, October 3: Flextime and telecommute
Thursday, October 4: bike to work
Friday, October 5: walk to work

Local businesses are helping get the word out about Rideshare Week and alternative commuting. SANDAG thanks the following sponsors of this year’s program.

During Rideshare Week, try a commute alternative – you’ll save on gas, reduce traffic, and help improve our environment.

Have you thought about joining a vanpool or starting a carpool? Complete a Ridematch Application Form today to find fellow commuters to share the ride. There currently are 580 vans in the RideLink vanpool program!

RideLink Account Executives are available to work directly with employers, educating them on the commuter benefits that they can offer employees. Employees appreciate the commute assistance and businesses can enjoy tax savings. Offering transportation benefits is easier than you might expect.

To find out more about your commuting options or Rideshare Week events and prizes, dial 511 and ask for RideLink, e-mail RideLink at ridelink@sandag.org, or submit a Commuter Information Request for additional information.
