Rideshare Week challenge winners announced
To help promote Rideshare Week 2009, SANDAG’s commuter services program, iCommute, held a Carpool Challenge asking commuters to go online and sign up for the free ridematching service called RideMatcher. Three hundred commuters signed up to take the challenge. Here are the winners.
First quarter transportation progress report
Each quarter, SANDAG issues a transportation progress report to its Board of Directors to keep the members apprised of the many projects underway in the region. By leveraging state, federal, and local TransNet dollars, SANDAG funds transportation improvements and services designed to give commuters more choices and reduce growing traffic congestion.
Property crime drops in first half of 2009
Fears that the downturn in the economy would result in increased crime have not been realized so far, with countywide statistics for the first half of 2009 showing a slight decrease in the overall crime rate, and a big decline in property crime.
Construction starts on Escondido Rapid Bus project
Construction began November 16 on the Escondido Rapid Bus project, the first of a new wave of bus services coming to the region in the years ahead that will make service more rapid and reliable.

'Vanpool Challenge' results in 10 new vanpools
A total of ten new vanpools were formed during Rideshare Week 2009, bringing the total number to 658 vanpools throughout the San Diego region.
2009-2013 Draft Coordinated Plan available for comment
SANDAG has released the 2009-2013 Draft Coordinated Plan for review and comment through December 5, 2009.
November Board of Directors meeting actions available online
The next SANDAG Board of Directors business meeting is scheduled for Friday, December 18, 2009, at 9 a.m. Members of the public not in attendance may listen live to this meeting by accessing the "Listen Live" link from the SANDAG Web site home page approximately 15 minutes prior to the start of the meeting.
