Get involved in the Mid-Coast Mid-Coast Corridor Transit Project
Corridor Transit Project

Residents, students, business leaders, employers, and other stakeholders are invited to submit an application to serve on the Mid-Coast Corridor Transit Project Working Group (PWG).

The PWG will provide input on the Mid-Coast Corridor Transit Project purpose and need, alternatives for consideration in the environmental review process, the draft environmental document, and the public involvement plan itself.

The Mid-Coast Corridor Transit Project is the proposed extension of transit service from the Old Town Transit Center to University City, University Towne Centre and U.C. San Diego, and downtown San Diego.

The goals of the Public Involvement Plan and the PWG are to involve citizens that represent the diverse perspectives and geographic areas of the Mid-Coast Corridor.

The proposed member categories and composition of the PWG as approved by the SANDAG Board are:

Please complete an application and submit to SANDAG by 4 p.m., June 22, 2009.

SANDAG has appointed City of San Marcos Mayor Jim Desmond, City of San Diego Councilmember Sherry Lightner, and MTS Chair Harry Mathis to serve on the selection committee. The committee’s recommended slate of participants for the Project Working Group are scheduled to be presented to the SANDAG Transportation Committee on July 17, 2009 and to the Board of Directors for approval on July 24, 2009.

The initial meeting of the PWG is planned for the last week of July.
