Cox connects to commute options The SANDAG RideLink team recently participated in Cox Communication’s “Cox Conserves” event. One of many booths at this “green-themed” event, RideLink distributed information about commuter programs such as vanpools, carpools, and public transit. Cox hosted the event for its local employees who were eager to talk to the RideLink team about their commutes. More than 150 commute surveys were filled out with more than half of the respondents requesting additional commuter information. Many cited rising gas prices and their desire to contribute to a better environment as primary reasons for considering a change in commute. The 511 free telephone and Web service also was very popular with the “Cox Conserves” crowd! A number of Cox employees reported to RideLink representatives that they have used the service, observed the new 511 freeway signs, and listened to the 511 radio commercials. The RideLink Regional Bicycle Maps also were available to show participants bike routes throughout San Diego County. Once participants saw that routes were available just about anywhere, many started to plan their own route for Bike to Work Day coming up on May 16, 2008. RideLink representatives are available to participate in employer and community fairs and events. Together we can help reduce traffic congestion in San Diego County. Visit 511sd.com or dial 511 from any phone and ask for RideLink to learn how you can become involved and participate in our commuter programs! Project Manager: |
