SANDAG, the Southern California Tribal Chairmen’s Association, the Reservation Transportation Authority, Caltrans, and the County of San Diego announce the 2006 San Diego Regional Tribal Summit on March 10, 2006 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Summit is being hosted by the Pala Band of Mission Indians at the Pala Reservation in North County.
This is a unique opportunity for the elected officials from the 18 cities and the County of San Diego as represented on the Board of Directors of SANDAG to meet with the elected leaders of the 17 federally recognized tribal governments in the San Diego region to discuss policy level issues related to land use and transportation.
SANDAG is currently developing the next comprehensive update of the Regional Transportation Plan. This summit will provide an opportunity to discuss tribal transportation-related matters and other planning, policy, and infrastructure issues.
