Planning for Our Region's Future
San Diego's Regional Comprehensive Plan

Planning for the region's future continues at public workshops this month. The Regional Comprehensive Plan public workshops serve as a forum for residents and elected officials to work together to help plan for the future.

Workshop attendees consider essential questions and issues that will affect our region's land use, transportation, environment, housing, jobs, and economy. Participants provide meaningful input on a vision and core values for the San Diego region. Citizens and elected officials have expressed many concerns as well as suggestions for the region's future, including the importance of:

  • Creating affordable housing in the San Diego region

  • Curtailing sprawl

  • Developing a transportation system that supports our growing population

  • Sustaining our natural habitat

  • Ensuring water availability

  • Addressing the region's long-term future needs instead of focusing solely on the present

  • Including public health issues in the planning process

The final public workshop in this round of meetings will be held -

Tuesday, March 25
6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Oceanside Library,
Community Room
330 N. Coast Highway, Oceanside

RSVPs are requested. To RSVP call (619) 595-5637.

After the completion of this series of workshops, SANDAG will begin to incorporate concepts provided by citizens and elected officials into the Regional Comprehensive Plan. Additional workshops will be held throughout the region this fall.
