SANDAG and Caltrans have unveiled plans for the much-anticipated expansion of State Route (SR) 52 – the more than $650 million endeavor that will revitalize travel in the East County.

On Thursday, May 18, 2006, the North County Transit District (NCTD) Board of Directors recommended to the SANDAG Transportation Committee that fare increases be implemented in its service area to help balance the FY 2007 NCTD operating budget.

Although the overall crime rate was down slightly in the San Diego region for 2005 compared to 2004, the number of reported robberies was up 10 percent over that same period (3,937 in 2005, compared to 3,588 in 2004).
