I-805 in South County to be closed Aug. 18-19
Motorists are urged to steer clear of Interstate 805 in South County on the weekend of August 18-19, as a seven-mile stretch of the freeway will be shut down in both directions to accommodate construction.

SBX violators get 'Clean Slate'
For a limited time, South Bay Expressway drivers can settle outstanding violations at a steep discount by paying the cost of the toll, plus a reduced penalty. Under its Clean Slate program, which ends August 15, SANDAG is reducing the penalty per violation from as much as $100 to as little as $20.

SchoolPool now open for enrollment
SchoolPool is the SANDAG iCommute program’s free ridematching service for parents of children who attend the same school. With this safe and secure service, parents are matched with other parents in their neighborhood who are interested in sharing the driving responsibilities or would like to have their kids bike or walk to school with other students and a parent leader.

Ideas for a world-class transportation center
Design concepts for a world-class intermodal transportation center in the vicinity of the San Ysidro Port of Entry are being developed. SANDAG and the City of San Diego are conducting a study, in collaboration with Caltrans and the Metropolitan Transit System, on how to create an iconic gateway between Tijuana and San Diego.

Special events platform to ease traffic around fairgrounds
As the Del Mar horse racing season gets into full swing, SANDAG is in early engineering for a new special event rail platform that would allow fair and race-goers to take the train directly to the fairgrounds.

SANDAG expands free motorist aid program
The San Diego Freeway Service Patrol (FSP), a publicly-funded motorist aid program administered by SANDAG, has expanded its operation beyond rush hours to help stranded motorists during midday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. In addition, weekend FSP service is now available in most of the region from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. These latest changes are part of a pilot initiative.
