the rEgion

SANDAG newsletter provides information on key projects & services
As a public service, SANDAG distributes rEgion, a free, monthly newsletter. To subscribe to rEgion, visit SANDAG's Home page at www.sandag.org and enter a valid e-mail address in the box at the bottom left corner of the page. Each month, you will receive information to keep you updated on important projects and services underway and planned in the San Diego region. It's a great way to stay in the loop!

Draft 2007 RTP workshops scheduled for July
The draft 2007 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) is now available for public review and comment. Join your community leaders, fellow residents, and SANDAG officials at a workshop near where you live or work.

SANDAG unveils Super Loop station designs
The community is invited to an open house to provide public comments on proposed Super Loop station designs on Wednesday, July 11, 2007, from 3 to 7:30 p.m. at the Lawrence Family Jewish Community Center, 4126 Executive Drive, San Diego.

Compass Card update
Using public transit in the San Diego region will get a lot easier with the introduction of the Compass Card - an innovative, plastic "smart card" designed to streamline and expedite fare collection.

Connect to 511 for transit, traffic, and commute information
More and more people are dialing or clicking on 511 since the free service's public launch on February 21, 2007. After four months in operation, 511 and www.511sd.com average 17,000-plus phone calls and 50,000-plus page views each week.

Vanpool. Your passport to freedom on the open road.
Vanpooling is a comfortable, cost-effective, and convenient way for groups of people to share the ride. RideLink will help you get started by providing a list of people to vanpool with, and in some cases, SANDAG will help pay the bill. That's money back in your pocket and cars off the road.

RideLink program good medicine for SHARP hospital
Learn how SHARP Healthcare launched an innovative recruitment tool to attract new nurses from Riverside County to work at Sharp Memorial Hospital.

American Community Survey data released
The latest SANDAG info bulletin highlights the American Community Survey and describes how the U.S. Census Bureau is changing the way it conducts the census.

SANDAG projects receive awards
The California Energy Commission recently awarded $450,000 to SANDAG to develop analytical tools and research that focus on the relationship between land use, transportation, and energy planning.

SANDAG Board Actions available online
SANDAG Board of Directors business meetings are held on the fourth Friday of each month at 9 a.m. and are open to the public.
