Chula Vista Residents Get Paid to Try Alternative Commute

If you’re tired of high gas prices, traffic jams, and searching for parking— the Chula Vista Xpress (CVX) can help! The City of Chula Vista and the Developers of East Chula Vista are paying solo drivers up to $130 to use this new alternative commuting solution.

The City of Chula Vista is introducing the new three-part pilot commuting program to promote public transportation, carpooling, vanpooling, biking or walking to work as alternatives to driving alone. If you currently drive alone to work, you can earn a $2 per day cash incentive for every day you participate during the first three months. And best of all — you’ll help decrease traffic congestion and improve air quality

Residents who live east of Interstate 805 in the communities of Otay Ranch, EastLake, Rolling Hills Ranch, San Miguel Ranch, Rancho del Rey, Bonita Long Canyon, Telegraph Canyon Estates, and Sunbow can ride the new FREE CVX bus to Downtown or use the FREE shuttle to the H Street trolley station and qualify for a subsidy for using alternative commuting solutions.

This service is brought to you by local area developer contributions and a grant from the San Diego County Air Pollution Control District (APCD).
