Revitalizing historic
Western Salt Works site Western Salt Works

Help connect South County open space, bikeways, habitat, and parkland into a wonderful regional asset. Join community leaders and fellow residents at a public forum to discuss the potential for revitalizing the historic Western Salt Works location into a vibrant gateway to South San Diego County. The event will be held Wednesday, December 5, at 6 p.m., at Swiss Park Hall, 2001 Main Street, in Chula Vista.

Forum participants will:

  • Learn about potential for new public uses for the 17-acre site located west of I-5 at Palomar Street and Bay Boulevard

  • Discuss opportunities for connecting the Bayshore Bikeway, Otay Valley Regional Park, San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge, and a railway landmark

  • Share ideas for how to preserve, enhance, and increase the use of this bayside landmark

  • Learn about next steps and how to stay involved
