SANDAG seeks info on gathering public input
SANDAG will be addressing a number of significant regional issues in the coming months related to transportation infrastructure, growth, energy, sustainability, binational and interregional planning, and other important topics. Juvenile arrestees continue to test positive for drug use
The percentage of juvenile arrestees who tested positive for an illegal drug after being detained rose slightly from 2007 to 2008, according to an annual SANDAG study recently released.
QuickPark arrives at select COASTER parking lots
COASTER riders who park at the Carlsbad Village, Carlsbad Poinsettia, and Encinitas stations Monday through Friday can now take advantage of QuickPark, a new service that includes preferential parking spaces for carpools and vanpools and advance reservation capability for solo drivers to guarantee an up front parking space.
Rideshare Week set for October 5 - 9
Rideshare Week is an annual event designed to increase awareness about the benefits of using alternative transportation such as carpooling, vanpooling, taking transit, bicycling, walking, and telecommuting.
Mid-Coast Corridor Transit Project Working Group
to meet in September
SANDAG has established the Mid-Coast Corridor Transit Project Working Group to provide input on the Mid-Coast Corridor Transit Project, the proposed extension of transit service from the Old Town Transit Center to University City, University Towne Centre and U.C. San Diego, and downtown San Diego.
$70 million set aside for next wave of infrastructure improvements
The SANDAG Board set aside $70 million in July to begin final design work on a set of major projects – with the goal of putting the agency in a position to quickly pursue any federal or state funding that becomes available to pay for the actual construction of the infrastructure.
July Board of Directors meeting actions available online
The next SANDAG Board of Directors business meeting is scheduled for Friday, September 25, 2009, at 9 a.m. Members of the public not in attendance may listen live to this meeting by accessing the "Listen Live" link from the SANDAG Web site home page approximately 15 minutes prior to the start of the meeting.
