SANDAG Service Bureau welcomes new team member
Dr. Carolyn Alkire joins the SANDAG Service Bureau as a Senior Regional Economist. Since its launch in 2005, the Service Bureau has provded GIS analysis and mapping, demographic and economic studies, and transportation modeling and analysis to public agencies, businesses, and other organizations on a fee-for-service basis.

Environmental Mitigation Memorandum delivers on TransNet promise
To help implement the TransNet Environmental Mitigation Program (EMP) and establish future agency partnerships, SANDAG Directors recently approved a Memorandum of Agreement that outlines the roles and commitments of these partnerships regarding EMP implementation.

Bike to Work Day is May 16
This year, SANDAG and San Diego County Credit Union have teamed up to sponsor Bike to Work Day 2008, a unique event to help commuters consider bicycling to work as a viable option to driving.

Six Diamond Award recipients shine at SANDAG ceremony
Six deserving organizations were presented with 2008 Diamond Awards by SANDAG Chair Mary Teresa Sessom at the March 28, 2008, SANDAG Board of Directors meeting.

Regional economic prosperity strategy approved
The San Diego Regional Economic Prosperity Strategy identifies the demographic and economic challenges facing the San Diego region, and promotes a set of strategic goals and recommended actions to meet these challenges and improve the competitiveness of our local economy.

Senate Bill 618 is an innovative program being implemented in San Diego County with a goal of reducing recidivism and increasing the likelihood of successful offender reentry.
