Connect to the new 511 traffic service 511

Usage of the 511 phone and Web traffic information service continues to grow. After one month in operation, 511 has recorded more than 500,000 Web views and more than 50,000 phone calls to the new, free telephone and Web-based service for traffic, transit, and travel information.

511 gives you quick, convenient connections to

  • Real-time traffic information with driving times and incident reports
  • Transit route and fare information
  • Roadside assistance
  • I-15 FasTrak information
  • Carpool and vanpool information
  • Commute options
  • Airline arrival and departure information
  • Border Crossing Times
  • And much more

At www.511sd.com, commuters can register for the FasTrak program, get answers to frequently asked questions, and view toll and fee schedules. As the 511 system develops, users will be able to tap into up-to-the-minute toll information for the
I-15 Managed Lanes, find toll rates, and compare driving times to the regular highway lanes.

Look for new online account management options beginning in 2008. 511 is the new phone and Web connection to FasTrak and San Diego region travel information.

511 consolidates transportation information into a one-stop resource. Users can obtain real-time freeway driving times, transit route and rideshare information, roadside assistance, and much more. The new service puts a wealth of FREE, travel-related information at commuters’ fingertips — 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Accessed via telephone (number and voice-activated) or Web (www.511sd.com), 511 consolidates valuable traffic information into a one-stop resource. In addition, local government access television stations will broadcast 511 traffic information by this summer.

The state-of-the-art San Diego 511 service stems from a collaborative partnership among SANDAG, Caltrans, FHWA, MTS, NCTD, and San Diego SAFE.
