Time to tune up your bike and put on your helmet for the best Bike to Work Day ever! May 21 is the day to pedal your way to work.

Each year SANDAG sponsors the Bike to Work Day event to promote bicycling to work. Bicycling to work is a great way to exercise and it reduces the number of cars on the road. You can even combine your bike commute with transit. On Bike to Work Day, bicyclists ride free on all San Diego Transit, North County Transit, Chula Vista Transit, and the San Diego Trolley.

Also, the San Diego County Bicycle Coalition is offering a "Smart Cycling" class to local employers. This one-hour class, designed to be presented during the lunch hour, covers the basics of safe cycling and bicycle commuting.
