Employers Invited to Spring Into Action!

SANDAG, in partnership with SONY, the City of San Diego, and the Poway Chamber of Commerce, invites area employers to learn more about the benefits of sponsoring employee commuter programs at its Spring into Action! seminar. The free breakfast seminar will be held on Friday, April 25 at 7:30 a.m. at the SONY Rancho Bernardo facility (16530 Via Esprillo, San Diego).

City of San Diego Councilmember Brian Maienschein, who co-chairs the Freeway Congestion Strike Team, is scheduled to speak at the seminar.

Seminar participants will learn how to enhance employee benefits with little or no cost to the company by offering an employee commuting program. SANDAG offers free consulting services to assist the region's employers in learning how to use commuter programs successfully. Services include employee surveys which determine commuter patterns and employee commuter preferences, and a program which allows employees to be matched with other employees for potential carpools or vanpools. SANDAG also provides information on the state and federal tax benefits companies can take advantage of by starting employee commuter programs.

Commuter programs boost employee morale, increase retention, and improve employee productivity. Employers can learn more about how their business can create its own commuter program by attending the seminar. To RSVP, or for more information, call (619) 595-5643.

SANDAG presents educational employer seminars several times each year for San Diego employers. The seminars are designed for human resources and facilities professionals who want to gather information and receive the latest materials on commuter programs.
